To honor someone is a wonderful and a dangerous thing, prone to all sorts of mischief.

“Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.”
–Luke 20:46 TNIV
Jesus knew that the honor granted the religious leaders was misdirected, and a mistaken entitlement. Further he knew that these people who demanded such honor were undeserving, corrupt (read Luke 20:47).
Ultimately, there is one monarch we bow unto, we need kiss but one ring. When we serve Jesus today, when we love one another, when we do not return evil for evil…that’s when we honor Jesus the King, that’s when we kiss the ring of our Lord.
Joyfully,
